Meet Dr. Wilkins

 Dr. Nurit Wilkins, O.D is our optometrist who accepts patients solely by referral at our Towson, MD location.  She specializes in the management of ocular surface disease and the fitting of complex and specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Wilkins attended The University of Maryland in College Park, where she was a member of the national championship college cheerleading team.

She completed her Doctorate in Optometry at The Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, where she earned clinical honors, and was the recipient of the Gas Permeable Lens Institute’s Clinical Excellence award.

Dr. Wilkins completed a residency in cornea and specialty contact lenses at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA. Her residency training focused on the management of corneal diseases such as keratoconus, post-refractive ectasia, and ocular surface disease. Dr. Wilkins trained under world-renowned contact lens expert and innovator, Dr. Joel Silbert. She has expertise in the fitting of complex contact lenses including toric, multi-focal, gas permeable, hybrid, scleral, and cosmetic contact lenses. She co-authored an article published in Current Ophthalmology Reports, and was selected to present at the American Academy of Optometry meeting and the Global Specialty Contact Lens Symposium.

Dr. Wilkins has participated in international surgical mission trips with World Blindness Outreach. She is committed to serving her patients within her community and all over the world. She lives in Baltimore with her husband Drew.
